Torchwood is a spinoff of the 2005 version of Doctor Who. Jack Harkness, a companion of the Doctor turned immortal by a wish gone wrong, is the leader of a contemporary (well, contemporary meaning mid-2000s) version of a paranormal agency known as Torchwood Three. Unlike previous incarnations of Torchwood Three as well as Torchwood One, they did not serve the government of Great Britain. Jack, unlike Torchwood One (at least), didn't want to imprison the Doctor.

Ianto Jones is one of the members of Torchwood Three. A former member of Torchwood One and survivor of the Battle of Canary Wharf, he literally keeps a huge secret that nearly endangers Torchwood Three. He starts off as the butler who cleans up after Torchwood's messes, but eventually joins Torchwood on their missions and becomes Jack's lover.

The Avengers, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are a group of first-response superheroes, led by Nick Fury, that defend the earth from threats that are too large for one superhero to handle. The Marvel Cinematic Universe version, or at least the first incarnation of it, is made up of Steven Rogers (Captain America), Tony Stark (Iron Man), Bruce Banner (The Hulk), Thor Odinson, Natasha Romanoff (The Black Widow) and Clint Barton (Hawkeye).

In Broken Soul Is Bleeding, Ianto feels betrayed by his team members at Torchwood. He breaks ties with them and decides to join up with the Avengers, where his life changes for the better.

Broken Soul Is Bleeding is rated R. It contains a mention of an offscreen character death. It can be read at AO3, DW or LJ.

I'm not familiar with Torchwood, so I didn't read the fic (I make a point of avoding spoilers for series I plan to watch one day), but you had me at Smashing Pumpkins' Bullet with Butterfly Wings... Though I feel that it's a little out of place between Strange and Umbrella. The song after Umbrella also seems to be a bit too jumpy for the rest of the mix... but both songs don't really hurt the feel of the mix, even though it's a short mix, so I guess that's fine. Your artwork is also nice, simple but cool; I wish I had the talent to make something like that... Anyway, great work here! Congratulations!

I kind of think this mix is perfect. I have to say, I've never seen The Avengers, but at least as far as the Ianto side of this is concerned, I loved it! I am a big sucker for cover songs, so I especially loved the Marie Digby and Bon Iver choices, and all of the music just flowed so well together I almost forgot I was listening to mix and not a regular album/soundtrack. Great job!
